Small stoneware bottle from England v Stamped on Doulton & Co Lambeth Pottery London - These were used during the First World War for the alcohol reserves such as rum, whiskey, etc. of the British soldiers.
These heavy clay jugs were often called “finger jugs” because the handle made it possible to insert one or two fingers into them while drinking the whiskey or liquor directly from the jug.
Found at an antique market in Ardingly, UK.
