Vintage Kokeshi Dolls 50s 60s Japan
Tax excluded. Shipping calculated at checkout
The Kokeshi are traditional Japanese wooden dolls that have existed for many centuries. At first they were made as simple toys for children, but over time they became popular collectors' items. These vintage dolls date from the 50s/60s and were hand-painted. They probably came to France as souvenirs in the mid-century, where they are still popular as decorations in collectors' homes today. A perfect decorative piece for vintage lovers and fans of the shabby chic and brocante style.
There is a large male doll and a slightly smaller female doll. Both have a beautiful patina and feel smooth in the hand. Both are in very good condition! Almost everything we offer in our shop is vintage, not new, so there will almost always be signs of wear or imperfections that add to the special charm and tell the individual story.
