This Empire style porcelain series was designed by Harriet Bing, who was married to one of the co-owners of the Bing & Groendahl factory, Denmark. The Empire tableware is characterized by its white base color with scaled edge and its beautifully curved blue decorations of flowers and bows.
The matchbox holder is an exceptional and rare object from the Empire series. It is beautifully crafted and has a delicate underglaze painting.
