Antique French style soup tureen made of light porcelain with a decorated knob. An extremely pretty soup tureen from around 1900 - and a wonderful decorative piece in the cupboard or kitchen shelf.
About the manufacturer: The Franz Anton Mehlem stoneware factory in Bonn was founded in 1838. It developed into one of the most important industrial companies in the city and was an important employer until the First World War. The factory produced high-quality ceramic and porcelain goods that were exported worldwide. After the First World War, Villeroy & Boch briefly took over production before the factory was closed in 1931 due to the global economic crisis. The site, including the villa "Château du Rhin", was located directly on the Rhine and is now the site of the Federal Audit Office.
