An exceptionally charming original piece from the Gründerzeit era:
This antique wooden box was hand-painted and signed in 1883. The lid features a finely detailed naturalistic floral composition with intricate leaves, blossoms, and a small ladybug – typical of late 19th-century decorative painting.
The interior is lined with quilted red fabric and was originally intended for storing jewelry, keepsakes, or personal treasures.
Such individually painted boxes were often made in middle-class households or as gifts and are now popular collector's items and decorative objects.
Style: historicism
Dimensions: 20 x 20 x 9 cm
