How to present vintage jewelry properly - DIY jewelry display
Vintage jewelry tells stories, captures the charm of long-forgotten eras and fascinates with its uniqueness. As a passionate vintage jewelry lover and former owner of a small shop with a seemingly endless selection of beautiful pieces, I have always faced the challenge of presenting these treasures in an appealing way. When I closed my business in summer 2021, I stored my entire vintage designer jewelry collection and have not offered it for sale since then - they would never have gotten the attention in the online shop because jewelry is super difficult to photograph, and I also didn't want to take them to my stand in the hall for various reasons (risk of theft, damp in winter, damage from touching too many people, etc.). Recently I found the big chest with all the sealed jewelry bags and decided that the time had come to actively offer them again! But how?
The Art of Appealing Presentation
It is a real challenge to reveal the beauty of the jewelry and at the same time protect it from damage and theft. A display case would have been an easy and quick solution, but considering the product (fashion jewelry - not real jewelry) and the price segment (between 10 and 100 euros) I think it is somewhat excessive and I also see a certain hurdle for customers (they have to talk to someone to take a closer look). So I decided on a creative solution that
1. Easy to make + requires little time
2. It is cost-effective - I only used materials that I already had at home
3. Functions as protection and gift wrapping at the same time - How ingenious is that?!

The result
What beautiful eye-catchers! With the postcards in a vintage look (I found them at a flea market at some point) I was able to create the perfect frame for the beautiful pieces of jewelry and at the same time initiate a little journey through time - I made sure that the image/fashion matched the style and era of the respective piece of jewelry. I think that worked out very well. I stuck the prices on the back with a sticker, which can easily be removed if the whole thing is to be given as a gift.
Now a large part of it will end up at my stand in the Antikhalle Hauset! I will present the small works of art in an old card box for people to look through and position them near the vintage clothing. I am excited to see how the idea is received by customers :-) Positive feedback is always welcome and means a lot to me.
How do you like the idea? I looooove creative work!
